? Low Numbers Last Few Mornings SLGS

Please look at Phoenix's spreadsheet for the last few days. His morning numbers are low and I am afraid to give a shot. By preshot time in the evening, they are high even with his morning injection.

Should I give him his full 6 units in the morning if his numbers are between 150 & 180? Or should I give him 3 units? I don't know what to do.

His numbers are not too low...those are good numbers. We do dose increases to get better numbers...otherwise there would be no progress.
I'd give his full dose especially since you skipped this morning. If you are concerned about the mid100s numbers, you can always feed a food with a slightly higher carb content to pad the numbers a bit after you give the injection.
You may need to just adjust your ' no shoot number' to under 150. You can stall, don't feed and retest like you did yesterday morning....

What is your overnight feeding schedule? A snack around +7/+8 might keep your cat from having lower AMPS BGs if you are worried that he's going lower overnight.....?

Would it be possible to set an alarm and get a couple of late cycle PM tests? Or maybe if you wake up to use the washroom? That way, you will know if the AM preshot test number is on its way up or down. Some cats have late nadirs.

If you find the numbers are dropping between, say, +10 and AM preshot, some people have had success in stopping the drop, allowing a shootable AM number.

I never had a high(ish) dose cat. Let's see what some of the high dose people have to say.

I answered on your other post. A housekeeping note, we request you just do one post a day. If you have a new question during the day, just change the subject line and change the subject line prefix to ?

Size of dose doesn’t change the strategy for shooting lower numbers.
