Hi, I am helping a friend look for a low carb dry...she has 1 FD cat plus 4 non-FD cats. YAZC is out of the question due to cost. I've read that Evo turkey & chicken for cat & kittens is LC, as well as Natures Variety Instinct (not sure which formula). Does anyone know the actual carb %s of these foods? And with regard to Natures, which formula? Thank you.

Even the lower carb dry foods present problems with regulating some diabetic cats (Bandit's BG will shoot up 100 points after just eating a few pieces of EVO), so unless there is some very good reason to keep the dry food in the house (e.g. one of the cats won't eat canned), then I wouldn't put it out. If convenience is the issue, auto feeders and frozen portions of food to leave out for free feeding when she's out of the house might be a better solution. If it's a cat issue, she may want to separate the one cat that is refusing to eat canned from the others when feeding, and do scheduled, controlled portions just like with the wet eaters.

Here are the values sent to me by Natures Variety
