low bgs, still shoot?

I'm hoping someone is on and will see this before I'm off to work.

I worked last night and my dad was doing her insulin. I guess when he fed her she kept running and hiding when he went to give it to her. So I got home at 930pm (3hrs later than her shot time) and gave it to her then. I figured her sugars would be low in the morning, but I'm confused as what to do. They're at 5.9 (106) so should I reduce her dose to .25? I'm worried too because I'm off to work for a full 7 hrs before i can check her again.

If you run into this situation again, 3 hrs later than shot time, the postponement means you have a new shot time.


Sometimes you have to delay if your amps or pmps is low and you don't feel comfortable giving insulin or you aren't going to be
around to monitor. If this is your first low reading, and it was 3 hrs late, I would have dropped next dose or reduced it
by .5. You didn't say what your dosage was.
You have to gain experience and lots of bg readings before you should shoot a low number so you know your cats pattern.

You were right to stop and ask. Unfortunately, no one was around.
For situation like this, it's better to go ask you question in the insulin forum ( whichever insulin you have)
There is usually always someone there for help.

I'm going to check back to find out what you did. It would be really beneficial to have a spreadsheet. If you need help
figuring that out, there are folks who are good at explaining it if the instructions don't make sense.
 
Um....I do have a spreadsheet in my signature...it explains everything that happened.

I cant do a new shot time if its late. Shes accustomed to the times as it is also her feeding time. If I dont give it at those times, she goes for dry dog food.
