Okay, so my guy Lee was diagnosed in August, we changed his diet to low carb and he has pretty much been off the juice since which is great. It just seems to me here lately that his appetite has not been what it should be. Of course at first he ate like he was starving, 'cause he was, but now he kind of nibbles then goes to have a drink and walks away. I put him back to his bowl several times and he might nibble more or not. He wants what I am eating but he doesnt really eat it just mowes on it.
Could it be he has been low carb for long enough that he is getting satisfied by less?

If his BG's are good and he does eat (when he is hungry), and he's not vomiting, not losing weight, no diarhhea, no health issues or anything like that, then I probably wouldn't be too concerned. Once they are regulated and their BG's are more normal, their appetites tend to go back to normal.

In Maui's case, she nibbles throughout the day and eats when she's hungry. She's not eating like before (which could be 3 cans of Fancy Feast at once) and it can take her almost all day to eat one can.

That is pretty much the situation. He is doing so well it is amazing. If the vet had told me or I had read the www.catinfo.com site sooner a whole lot of grief could have been avoided. Just the shift to the canned diet has worked wonders. He is happy, active, vocal, not yarking on the carpet. I guess I have been worried for so long I am looking for behaviors that might herald a problem when really I have a normal kitty again. How weird.....
