Puddin has had low energy since yesterday and also low appetite today. He isn't interested in his usual food, so I gave him his old wet food (not low phos) which he ate enough of to give him his am shot. His bg values have been lower than usual today and he was not interested in his snacks.

For PM, he ate some (not low phos) with coersion and I gave him a 1/2 dose shot. About 1 hour after that, he threw up his dinner so I gave him a dose of Cerenia with about a half can of 12% carb food since I thought it might be more appetizing.
Additionally, he has had 1 bout of diarrhea today.

My first guess is that he is having a low energy situation with upset stomach like he had a few weeks ago which I brought him to the vet for (when we discovered his high kidney values).
Does anyone have any other ideas or see anything I should be more concerned about?
 
Lovely day numbers wise, but I can see how his lack of appetite would be stressful.:bighug:

Cats in good BG numbers won't be as hungry. How many calories do you think he's eaten today compared to his current normal?

Any chance he might have pancreatitis, was he tested for it last time? A Primer On Pancreatitis Good idea to try the Cerenia, but if p'titis he might need some pain meds too.

I would say half of his usual amount.

No, he was not tested for pancreatitis. Should I just go ahead and get him tested or if he gets better in a few days would it rule this out? Also, is this an emergency situation or can it wait for a weekday?

Should I continue the Cerenia?
 
I don't see a post for today, so answering here. Pancreatitis, if that's what he has, can be treated at home if you have the right meds, and depending how severe it is. As for testing, depends if it continues or gets worse. The post I linked has treatment. Pancreatitis can be chronic or an acute episode. It's not uncommon with diabetics.

I would continue with the Cerenia to make sure he gets back to normal on eating. Add water to his food if not doing already.

I gave him the Cerenia today, as well. He's improving as the day goes on. I almost think what he has is a stomach bug (or something like that) because all of our cats have been eating way less since this all started with Puddin and a few have been vomiting. Thank you so much for the help, Wendy.
