As of today, she is completely out of strips but will purchase some this pm on the way home from work.

Timing may factor in with how its working - if it is dropping the glucose fast, without enough food starting to bring it up at the same time, could it be triggering the liver to compensate? Maybe waiting a smidge longer? (On Spitzer's spreadsheet, I've added a 2nd line underneath the glucose and shot to enter the time - its easier for me to see I've waited long enough)

I think that it usually takes 2 hours or so until you see a drop from the insulin. If the test is done just prior to eating, and the shot given soon after that, the food should hit first (bg goes up) and then the insulin starts to push back. Regardless, PZI doesn't hit all at once. The peak is normally closer to +5 or +6. Humulin would act a lot faster, and a more sharp drop would occur. PZI is slower and more gentle.

If you can check at shot time, then again at +2 or +3, and then at +5 or +6, we'd have a better idea at how Louie's numbers react to the food and to the PZI.

You can only do so much. You can't stay up 24 hours a day testing and worrying.
You can tell a lot just from how Louie is acting. How's he doing? Can you see any outward signs that make you feel encouraged (or discouraged) that are different this week than they were before you switched insulin?
