Hello all,
JUST TAKE A LOOK AT THAT LOW NUMBER!!!! So glad he is in the blue..... Will get updates soon...
She increased to 1.5 Friday am....Hope this is the right answer...
She is going to give him food and test +1 or 2 and see what happens.
I think she is planning on keeping it at 1.5 for a few more doses but nooo dose this am so far.
Open for suggestions..............

Love me a blue! Check out Cello's ss today. She is dealing with the same low amps. Encourage her to check after feeding to see if he goes down and we have an active pancreas. I would only wait until he is in the 200s before shooting - as long as he is sure going up. I would be reluctant to do the 1.5 but if she does, she needs to be ready for low numbers and be ready to intervene. I am more cautious and would do one unit (and still test often today)

Ok, Mr. Louie ate about 1/2 can of f.feast - sol, cod and shrimp..

new number and a deflated mommabean.....#371! at a +3 from no shot at amps.....

She will not shoot and wait for the pmps before she does...

She is going to test again around the +6 from no shot at amps...

any other suggestions???????????

also posted new information on health

Have her check the number once more just to be sure. If it is right, I think I would go ahead and give him one unit - as long as there is no chance he got into dry food or something. And if it won't mess up her schedule tonight. If she waits to give insulin tonight, he may be quite high.

It is most likely a bounce from a low number overnight. Hope she can celebrate the blue and not be discouraged. The insulin just wore off and his pancreas didn't pick up the slack.

She is going to test again in 3 more hours...cannot give shot now - too off schedule but will keep an eye on the # without insulin and food for grazing...Perhaps pick up food now and he will have no food for the next test???
Dont think this is a bounce just because the +6 was 205... Could he have gone lower for a bounce from the +6 to the amps?????

Well, he might have gone lower, but not as likely. If not a bounce, then a long duration. That sometimes can mean the dose is too high - just a smidgen in this case - because he wasn't far from 200 at amps. Food or no food is fine - whatever he is used to.

How about a fat one or 1.25 at pmps? She doesn't want to react to a high number and shoot high. He will be without a shot for 24 hours by tonight.

Do you think that her wanting to be consistent for 3 days at shot time with the 1.5 is a bad idea?? that is what she is leaning towards and with being able to test feels that this is a good idea???

I think the 1.5 is too high a dose. She went from one to 1.5. And she got a amps too low to shoot. That is his first cycle on 1.5. I would worry that each additional cycle might bring him lower.

Missing shots sets her back. Better to have a little higher numbers and be able to shoot twice daily.

How about 1.25 and stay with it for a few cycles?

I freely admit I tend to be conservative with dosing. If she wants to do 1.5, it would probably be okay, but she needs to be ready if he throws a low number. And if he is too low at ps, she needs to have a flexible schedule.

I will advise her of your thought for sure! tytytytyt
I believe she has been doing a fat 1u and thinks it is pretty close to a 1.25, but I think I will definately advise the 1.25 - 1.50 and see if I can get her to come down a bit.. I am like you too high is better than too low....take a look at Beans ss and you will know why! eeeeeks - our first successful test was a nightmare and very very nerve racking. nailbite_smile
