Wow~ I sure was surprised to see this high number this morning. Maybe I took Louie's dose down too far a few days ago~ so I upped the dose from 1 to 1.25 this morning in hopes that this will help. I'm doing everything I can to help get Louie stable~ but its taking a while!
I hope I did the right thing by increasing the dose~ I know it was recommended that I stay at one dose for a while, but.......??? :?

That 500 is more than likely a bounce, wonder if he went really low overnight or at least lower than he was use to, since you were getting good numbers on the 1u. But time will tell if it is too much or just right. Just keep an eye on him and make sure he doesn't start dropping too fast or going too low. That is a pretty steep drop in 3 hours so if he was mine I would definitely try to get a +6 test in and maybe even a +9 just to keep an eye on things.

Don't feel bad hon, some cats just take awhile to get the dance steps down, and they have an advantage over us, they can at least hear the music. :-D Musette and I have been dancing now for a little over 7 months and she still likes to throw curve balls, at least her last one I quickly figured out what happened, she was put on a bad medicine for a diabetic as it contained steroids that shot her BGs through the roof, as well as ticking her off.

If they were all as easy to regulate as Maxwell was this board would be very quite.

I think you are doing just fine; you got the green 66 on the 1.5u dose, then the 3 greens a couple days later and dropped it right down to 1u, so that may have been a bit low.... and so, the 1.25u is likely a bit better.

Remember if you change a dose, the shed has to adjust, which will likely give you some bumpy numbers.

As for what's happening at nite, if at all possible, see if you can get a before bed test. If before bed is not possible, you can test around +10 or 11 in the morn.. then when you take your amps test, you will see how fast Louie's rising or if he was already high.

Try holding onto the 1.25u till the dose settles and I bet Louie's out of the high numbers and into safer ones.
