Had to bring 2 cats to the vet. Apparently both have UTIs (one is the one who just had the UTI). Guys...I don't know what to do. I can't keep going to the vet every few weeks...it's horrendously expensive and it doesn't seem to be doing any good. I have no idea what has caused this. What is it that is making my cats sick? Why don't antibiotics seem to clear it up? Any advice would be welcome...I'm a bit of a wreck right now. I'm beginning to think I'm going to have to put her to sleep and I know that is a horrible thing to say, but I can't afford to have her constantly sick and she's got to be miserable. And now with a second cat sick...I'm at a loss.

How were/are the UTIs diagnosed?
What antibiotics were used and for how long?
Sometimes more than 14 days is requires, like a month or even more.
What the urine cultured to find an acceptably antibiotic? A culture are is a definite diagnosis.

They did a cysto. They did find bacteria in the urine (I asked to ensure that this was definitely a UTI). They said Elektra is better than 2 weeks ago but not perfect and that possibly just more antibiotics are needed. They didn't do a culture...should I request it next time?

We've done a few different antibiotics at this point always just for 14 days...is there one that is better than others that you know of?
