As long as you keep your fridge closed, I think it should be ok for a little while. You could always crack a window and leave it on the windowsill if it's chilly out and you're really concerned.
The pens are also good for longer than 28 days. As long as you don't see anything floating around in the insulin and you're contenting to get good numbers, the pen is fine. I've used a pen to almost the last drop.
I’ve also used pens to the last last drop. An occasional out of the refrigerator cycle didn’t seem to matter. As Gillsaid humans don’t refrigerate the insulin.
Keep a thermometer in your fridge to make sure it doesnt go too low.
Also if power is out, use open food storage containers with snow and put in the fridge. It keeps it colder.
Plus if you lose power alot, ADW Diabetes have bags that you can soak in water for like 10 mins that stay cold for a few days.
Also make sure you have camping lanterns to use for light. So much easier to test & give insulin with a good light.
