Re: Loose Lips - Where is the weirdest place your cat has sl
Oh, I've got to reply here. We have a civvie kitty named Magpie who's now 4. We rescued her from a rescue org. after someone else adopted her and returned her because she was 'too much cat.' :dizcat
My wife and I never leave the house until we have a furry head count - in our house - that's three furs; Fitzel, Magpie and Hobson (also a civvie). Well, we were ready to leave and started the count; Fitzel in her favorite spot on the grand piano window hunting, Hobson curled in the highest part of his kitty tree - but NO Magpie. Oh, Magpie. Magpie. We called and called. Opened doors and drawers, looked in and under beds, couches, cabinets - no Magpie. By now, panic was setting in. All our furrs are indoor only and we hadn't gone outside yet that morning, but you know how you start thinking maybe you opened a door to the backyard and you don't remember? So outside we went. Magpie! Magpie! No Magpie.
So, back in the house we were both panicking. Where on earth could she be? Then we noticed that Hobson, Magpie's younger brother and adoring disciple had gotten off his kitty tree and was staring at the stove. The stove? Yep. The cooktop, where every kitty mommy should always look - just in case their kitty is curled up sound asleep in the over-sized cast iron skillet you keep on the back burner.
We were so happy to finally find her we scooped her out of the once well-oiled, now well furred, frying pan before either of us thought to get the camera. Also, because we know our beloved, stubborn, singled minded Maggers - we put the over sized cast iron skillet under the cooktop with our other pots and pans. Now she just sleeps where every kitty always sleeps - on top of the refrigerator. Maybe we should enroll her in some culinary classes since she seems to love the kitchen.
