Hello Everyone!

It's snowing here in Ohio today and there's a cozy fire burning in our fireplace...makes me want to get the Christmas decorations out!!!

As for Gobbles, he's his usual gobbiness....nutrasweet, good appy, glistening poo, groomy, kissy, purry and up to mischief!

He's super excited because mom here harvested a deer on the 8th and there will be lots of venison for his tummy and our freezer! Quite a large deer, that one and he's one less deer Ohio drivers' don't have to worry about hitting....

He tested 62 this past Saturday and weighed in at 13.8--he didn't lose, but he didn't gain, so that's good.

Lastly, there was a great kodak moment Friday night :)

Glad you got a bunch of meat for the freezer. I wish I could come over to enjoy the snow, fireplace, and some venison stew :)

Hi Kat!! It's good to see you! I'm so glad all is well with you and Gobbles.
By the way, I think Gobbles is trying to take credit for that deer ~ the look on his face is so proud and adorable and kissable. (Gobbles, not the deer ;-) )
Take care, and enjoy your venison!

Hi Kat,
I'm glad that you have venison for the winter. Our deer family stays in the village at this time of year so that they don't become venison!

Gobbles sounds like he is doing just great. I'm sure he's convinced that he brought down that buck all by himself.

Thanks for visiting Rusty today,

Ella & Rusty

Hi Kat,
Glad to hear Gobs is doing great! Happy to see you post, because I was thinking about you today when I took these two pictures and glad I can share them in a fresh condo.

Hugs,
Carl

@Everyone--THANK YOU for your visits!

Yes, Gobbles IS taking credit for the deer; telling everyone that he was kind enough to let mom pose in the picture with his deer (and believe me, he'll end up eating a LOT of it)!!! We are elated and feel so blessed to have more meat in the freezer

Hey Carl--thanks for the pictures. If I had to name the deer you posted? "Delicious" and his brother, "Nutritious"

Kat,

Did you bag that deer yourself? Its still bow season here? My cousin Tammy used to make deer jerky. Yes I know the cats and dogs love the venison. At least you won`t have to buy Gobbles any filet steaks for awhile.

Hi Terri :-D Yes, I did bag him myself last week in the woods, in western Mahoning County (my DH helped me gut him and dragged him out of the woods for me) with my bow. Bowseason began the last Saturday in September and ends the first Saturday in February 2014; still lots of time to try and fill another deer tag. We make jerky out of the backstraps and have the remaining deer ground up, and sent 10 pounds of it to a local smokehouse to get slim jims made.... Gobbles was ecstatic and gave the deer a proper paw-whacking, for good measure, after the picture was taken

Good to hear Gobbles doing so well,I happy I still have some venison in the freezer funny my cats hate it, I think it's tasty...
