Yes, you read that correctly.

My local animal shelter is working with the local Pet Smart and collecting can tabs to give to Ronald McDonald
House.

Before you toss out that next can of cat food, please remove the tab, collect them and then forward to me to give to the animal shelter. It's an easy and cheap way to give back without spending extra money.

PM me and I'll send you my address.

Thanks!

HI Hillary.......this almost makes me wish I drank pop. I have a friend who had people save pop tops, years ago, and she made
"curtains" out of them. Not too good at keeping out light, but what the heck, we were young then.

I'll try and remember to save ours! How long is this going for? I mean, do we have time to collect for awhile before we ship them out?

Yes, lots of time. I asked when the cut off date is and she said, it's going to be an ongoing project with no end date. When I turn in the first batch of tabs, I'll ask again and see if they have an end date.

I've been told by others that ALL Ronald McDonald Houses collect these, so if you have one locally you can collect and turn them in to your local RM House. and it's a year round activity.

It's a bit challenging. I found if you fold the part where the tab is down, hold the lid at the opposite end (and yes you may get the gunk on your fingers), then wiggle the tab back and forth a few times, it will break off.

You need to be careful that you don't cut yourself when doing it, which is why I will get the gunk on my fingers.

Ok I'll try doing it that way .. I kept spinning it and it wouldn't come off .. I'm also very nervous about cutting myself .. nailbite_smile but maybe I'll wear gloves
