CORKY

Very Active Member
I would like to inquire about giving Corky Home Cooking, if I were to make him boiled breast of chicken, meats, fish and veggies? would that be sufficient for nutrients? or do I need supplements? or how can I switch from Fancy Feast Pates, and still feed what he needs? It's becoming too expensive for me almost $200 a month thru Chewy.com for both Corky and Coco, could I get some advice in this matter? Thanks

There a couple premixes I have used that you can mix with the meat. One is EZComplete and the other is TC Feline. I think there are additional ones available also.

Another option is to buy your own supplements. Since I feed multiple cats, I use this recipe https://www.rawfeedingforibdcats.org/balanced-recipe-for-use-with-raw-or-cooked-proteins.html. I cook my meat first in an Instant Pot the cool it and the liquid before mixing in the supplements. If you decide to use cooked meat, do not mix any supplements or premix in prior to cooking.

BTW, I usually use either chicken thighs or pork loin as my protein, buying it from Walmart or Sam's Club. I compared the cost of making my food to buying Friskies. Homemade food was cheaper.

I feed a raw home made diet for my cats and it is definitely cheaper than buying cans. And I use human grade meat I buy from the supermarket.
Some people cook the meat and that’s fine but I don’t.
The main thing you need to do is make sure the food is nutritionally balanced.
You can either add the different supplements yourself or add a premix as @Lisa and Witn (GA) has said. You need to do one or the other.

That would not be nutritionally complete. It would endanger them if it didn’t contain the right ingredients that they need. The easiest was to make absolutely sure that the food is nutritionally complete is to buy a premix to add to the meat. The EZ Complete website has lots of helpful information about making your own food.

Thank you, I will do the research, and find out if it's cheaper, if not Fancy Feast Stays, the sacrifice is worth it for my Corky.:bighug::bighug::cat::cat:
