Thanks for the suggestion, I did that after you advised that earlier in the week. There are a lot of vets, most with reviews but it still feels like I am shooting in the dark. If I were to interview the vets with the questions on your link, do I just call and ask that to whomever answers the phone, or schedule an appointment for a consult?
 
You might try a letter to the office, or just phone and indicate what you're trying to find.

A vet willing to become familiar with the AAHA guidelines, who prescribes Lantus, or is willing to be updated, can be worked with.

And your perceptions of the staff can be useful too - Are they helpful? Like working there? Know what is good to feed a diabetic cat?
