Looking for diabetic-safe dry treats/food in Canada

Looking for a dry food/treat that's okay for diabetic cats and available in Canada (Young Again isn't available here).

I never give my diabetic cat (Jack) treats, only wet food but once a week I spend about 36hrs at my mom's and bring Jack with me. One of my other cats that lives with my mom (Charlie) is a huge jerk and will destroy things and complain until someone gives him dry food so we usually end up having to feed him some in a seperate room but it happens too often that Jack ends up getting some (all of my cats open doors) and it's very annoying when Charlie starts complaining in the middle of the night and someone has to wake up to feed him in a seperate room (and stay awake until he finishes the whole thing without another cat opening the door).

I've tried using freeze dried treats but Charlie is the only one who won't eat it and still complains (is there maybe a specific freeze dried meat that has a similar consistency to dry food). I also tried using the Purina DM dry but it spikes Jack's blood sugar too much - one time he ate maybe 6 pieces and went from 121 to 400 in an hour.

Check out Nature's Variety foods. Still not ideal, but better than most. I haven't tried it yet, but am planning to for my civvies.

For treats, I give Rhubarb chunks of meat. And once a week or two a chicken gizzard to help clean teeth. Not all cats eat raw thoug- I got lucky with her.

There is no dry food in Canada that is suitable for our diabetics. The Purina DM dry is 18%.
The lowest carb dry food here when I last checked was 14% (Go Fit and Trim). The next lowest at 15% (NV Instinct Ultimate Protein Chicken and NV Instinct Original Chicken).

ETA @majandra - Interesting numbers on that list. When I checked them all out a few years ago, I got slightly higher numbers as above. Wonder if they have changed the formulas a bit.

As for dried treats, check out Walmart Vitalife and PureSnacks in the dog section for alternate proteins freeze dried. Not sure the texture will be different but the taste might intrigue the fussy fella. Orijen also makes some freeze dried treats from more unique proteins.

Thanks guys! I guess I will try another brand of freeze dried and see if maybe I can get an American PO box to order some Dr Elseys or YA. I'm only 1.5hrs from the border

I found one place to order Wysong from but the cost was absolutely mind blowing (>$100.00 for 10lb. bag). Dr. Elsey's is not available here yet and they didn't respond to my inquiry as to whether they had any intention of eventually offering the product here.

Be forewarned that it is illegal to bring pet food across the border into Canada except if you have the animal that will be eating the food with you at the time of crossing. The law also makes a statement about quantity/length of stay so any attempt to stock up even if you had your cat with you might be seen as illegal. They will confiscate the product if you get caught bringing it across.
