Lolly OTJ Test 3rd Day AMBG/58, +5/60, PMBG/67

bg still looking good! AMBG/82, PMBG/89.:D

One thing though-- Lolly's getting a little irritable, hissing and batting at some of the civvies. She's always ruled the roost, but this behavior is a bit more combative than usual. As my kitties "wake up" from their carbo stupor, all of them are getting more feisty, but does that include more aggression? Will she calm down? I have a lot of kitties (6), but for the last 7 years, space has been fine, enough litter boxes, enough hiding/sleeping nooks, enough attention from the beans, and cat to cat cuddles, all over "cat harmony".

Anything to be worried about?

Way to go, Lolly!

I will be interested to read what others say about the increased feistiness. I have observed the same thing with Henry. He can be quite the bully to his sister Olive lately, though he is still super-lovey with me. (He has always been a huge grump with the dog, so no change there!) I am glad he's feeling energetic and getting more exercise, but wish it didn't have to be at Olive's expense! I am trying to engage him in play more--throwing his favorite foam balls for him, letting him attack my feet under the covers, etc.--to help him get rid of some of that pent-up energy.

Hi Martha

You're an old hat at managing low numbers, since your trials by fire - come on over to Feline Health and help us give Patricia & Noodle a hand, here.

BJ, I'm sorry I wasn't on, I really want to help. I think I may have just gotten off. I was worried that once Lolly is off her trial, I wouldn't be on the board anymore-- because, whatever you say, I don't feel like an "old hat" :-). In fact the whole thing was so fast, my head is still spinning. So I was thinking, they won't really want me to help, how can I stay in touch. I don't think I'm qualified to give advice on the condos. But I would feel honored to do what I can, I want to stay on the board and give back. How do I continue learning? Should I "lurk" on the condos? I wish there was a way the forum could send an alert to my phone.

It can send an e-mail notice, which your phone might pick up.
Keep reading condos; you never know when you'll pick up something that you'll eventually need to pass on or use yourself.
You can welcome folks to the message board, pass on basic nutrition info (which will help you memorize it!!!), and so on.
Also, pick up a copy of the Merck Manuals Home Veterinary Guide; it is an excellent home reference!

The Merck Manual sounds like a great idea-- someone with 6 cats should own that. I just read through Patrician and Noodles' night (yes- was very familiar!) I think I could have helped, as long as I had an experienced person if I needed to verify something. For instance, I would have no idea whether the cipro would interact with anything.

I saw Patricia was having a lot of trouble with testing. I do want to spread the word about Bonito flakes - so many people have trouble with the testing (I'm beginning to see how lucky I am with Lolly), but I swear, bonito is better than catnip, and it doesn't have psychotropic effects. I venture that most cats will be immobilized with their head in a bowl oblivious to the world with Japanese bonito fish flakes. 100% protein, hardly any calories as they're light flakes. My cats practically slurp them. :cat:

Think I'd better get yesterday's condo up now that it's tomorrow.
