Good morning all,
AMPS were at 392 he was really anxious this morning, any change in my routine will do that to him. I got up earlier than usual this AM and he was all over me for affection, yet I could tell he was nervous about this also.
Not sure if this had anything to do with his numbers this morning or perhaps my meter is not acting like it should , tested both ears and the 392 was the lowest #, the other number was 492 I am thinking it may be time for a new meter yet this one is not that old. I use the Relion Prime. Any imput would be appreciated. I am home today so I can keep an eye on him but new job starts tomorrow and school in a week or so.
Thanks

(spreadsheet doses confirmed as the actual U-40 doses and not the u-100 syringe markings)

When he is in the 400s/high 300s, 2 units brings him down by +6 with about 100 points buffer.
This suggests that starting there, you might test a dose of 2.2 or 2.3 units to see how he does.

In the high 200s/low 300s, 1.5 units resulted in the PMPS being too low to shoot at the next time. You might take the dose down to 1.2 or 1.3 when you have a preshot at that level.

Did you put a new battery in the meter lately? Our battery just quits with little warning so we keep an extra on hand if we can.
Dunno what else it could be with the meter

Ok you guys ready? I hope to goodness that I did this right nailbite_smile Loki's PMPS were 260 so I gave him 1.6 units (U-40 measure) which is 4.0 on the (u-100 measure) this is just a little more than the 1 1/2 units he has been getting. I will recheck him anyway at his +2 after PMPS as I usually do. He is having his dinner now so the food will up his numbers anyway.
How I wish we could "talk" because this cyber land posting scares me that I am going to mess up.
On a side note Loki was really outgoing tonight, very lovey and happy. I figured out why, our younger cat Miles is a brat at 1 1/2 years and the old man Loki has no patience with him (not that he has to) he has earned the right to be grumpy with him. I put Miles in the great room/family room that is attached to my garage with the dog who he loves. But tonight with the cold weather still here they both will be in and Loki will me near me in bed anyway. Man, did I just right a novel? Sorry guys.
Thanks again for all the help,
Michele

As long as you are going to test and keep an eye on him you should be fine.

Since PZI is a U40 insulin, I think it is safest to always talk in U40 numbers, even if you are using the conversion chart for the U100 needles. That way we (and you!) are absolutely sure what you are dosing.

Exactly my thoughts donnahc, and I have no problems writing both measures in case someone else reads these post and it helps. I always check him at +2 after his PMPS anyway. A few weeks ago I stayed up all night and did a Q2 hr check on him (still tired from that one  )

Yeah last night I was up 4 times with my sugar boy testing. @-) He didn't go that low on me anyway, but I had to know. Today I stumbled around half asleep. I-)

Hopefully your +2 will be good, but non-eventful :-D
