Last night at +2 after PMPS we had 390 this AMPS are 436 Gave him 1 1/2 unit. I seem to think that 2 units is too much and 1 unit is not enough , could you guys let me know if this looks right to you on his SS. Thinking I may have to work from 1 unit up to somewhere up to 2 units. Hope this makes somekind of sense, at this point last year I really had no clue what so ever so I guess my education in the world of sugar cats is coming along.
 
Can you get a number around 5-7 today, Michelle? I think we need to know if he is bouncing or he is not getting quite enough insulin? And we can't tell that yet.
 
At PMPS +12 he is at 340 gave him 1 1/2 unit, not too much extra I hope? Can you guys tell anything yet? I am thinking we have to continue for maybe a week straight that 2 days is not enough. But looking at his SS it's not clear to me at all.
 
The dose looks good to me, Michelle. He certainly didn't have a low today to bounce from. It was not a bad curve - especially from the last 5 hours when he just went up 30 points. He surfed along half the cycle, just not as low as we would like him to surf.......Let's see what that dose does for a few cycles. Anytime you can get one midcycle number, it would be helpful.

I know you are discouraged, but he really is close. If he was down 100 points overall today, it would have been a lovely cycle and below the renal threshold.
 
We would appreciate some help from Loki. We are working hard; he is just skating along.

We usually say 3-5 cycles. I like 3 when they are in the higher numbers. (that's 3 12 hour cycles)
 
Stick with that 1.5 unit dose and see how he does when you keep the dose more stable.

It may be he needs more that 1.5 and less than 2.0 but another day should help clarify that.

While he's running above 200, its a good idea to check for ketones.
