My 12 year old friend who is a 3 year diabetic and being controlled on Lantus has been behaving differently this past week. She who was an indoor cat now wants to be outside all the time and only comes in to relief herself and eat. She does not sleep much and when she defecates, some of the time she goes outside her llitter box. My vet has given her probiotics and I don't know what to do. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Have you had blood work done? Are there any other symptoms like a weight change? I'd want to make sure to rule out hyperthyroid.

I was thinking the same thing as Sienne...ruling out HyperT. I'd also agree that bloodwork is in order...
