The question I have is in regards of making cat food with low carb ingredients for my high GL level.

I had to switch to Fancy Feast Paté because of unsuccessful results with raw food.
That is sad because I bought a grinder I found nearby in town that can grind and mix meat.

In her page, (http://www.catinfo.org/?link=makingcatfood), Lisa A. Pierson explain how to make raw food.
I was kind of afraid with uncooked food so I cook turkey (bough a huge load if it) for 15 min before putting the ingredients and mixing. I have every thing ordered from the recommended site including bone meal but this
is where the problem is (bone meal). My grinder doesn't grind bones, just meat, fat organ, skin (everything but bones). Raw both Small Kitty and Big Brother loves the raw meet, crocked a little less but still. Where is goes wrong is when adding the meat bones (2 1/3 tablespoons per 3 pounds of meat). This turn what would probably a good food into mud no looking like food at all. They just dont touch it. I tried it myself and it's sandy, taste like unbalanced cake with too much sugar.

So what to you raw food feeder think about meat bones ? I'm not to grind bones, what I have as grinder
is what I have and it's working very fine.

That's sad because I have a huge load of meat good for myself and even better for my cats.

Opinions welcome, thanks.

Sébastien, having hard time with Small Kitty.

You could try Knowwhatyoufeed.com they have a supplement that you add to the meat when you don't add bones. I have a grinder and it grinds small bones from chicken thighs and drumsticks. I order frozen rabbit from wholefoods4pets. My kitty Fritz loves it. Please don't give cooked bones they can choke on them. Only raw bones they are able to chew up.

TC Feline is made in Canada, that's what I'm currently using. It includes bone meal in the premix. I am using the TC Feline Special premix, as Neko needs low phosphorus. It uses eggshell calcium instead of bone powder.

You can also feed cats raw bones. Raw chicken wing tips or necks are good for their teeth. And easier than the big muscle bones (ie. thighs).

@Photorecon

Sebastien, you may be interested to see a thread in which Bron talks about making food for her kitty, Sheba.
Her kitty has kidney disease, so Bron uses ground eggshell instead of bone, because this is lower in phosphorous (and cats with kidney disease need low phos.)
I wonder if using eggshells, rather than bone, might work for you...?

I also use eggshells in the food I prepare. I buy organic eggs which are "cleaner" than conventional eggs and use a coffee grinder to break them down into a fine powder. Eggshells provide the calcium and other trace minerals. Take a look at the link Eliz posted for Bron's recipe.

I don't use totally raw meats. Instead I cook them in an electric frying pan for about 15-20 minutes on a low heat and use the juices from cooking mixed in the food.

Both TC Feline and EZ Complete seems to be good alternative to my current pattern. @Toxedo Mom, I also cook the meat at 350 for
15 min to kill everything that could be harmful. All information I found about raw meat scared me. TC Feline worth a try, with the
exchange rate US/CAN buying products on this side of the border is 20% rebate :). One thing that is sure is that I'll go ahead with raw
food, freezer is full of grinded meat. The eggshells solution is more complex, I do cooking on Sunday when I come back from my second job
so the simpler the better. The Lisa A. Pierson recipe looks fine but seems to bring approximations prone to unbalanced meal.

Just hope they will like it.

Thanks for all of you to share your opinion, I'll go and read the post mentioned by Elizabeth

The eggshells solution is more complex,

Using eggshells is very simple. Every time you use an egg rinse the shell out and either put it in the overn for 10 minutes or the microwave for 1 minute. Then store the shells in a container in the fridge until you have enough to grind up. My son bought me a basic coffee grinder for about $20. AND I can even use it for grinding coffee. ;)
