Linus - Levemir numbers, last 2 weeks

So Linus started on Lev on 11/9. I started at .5u, and have gradually increased from there, giving each dose at least 3 days/6 cycles and usually more. We are now at 1.25u, and I feel like I'm finally getting somewhere, got a +8 today of 167, which is the best we've seen for a while. My question is, he started this morning at 338, so he's got a pretty good curve going, and I thought Lev cycles should be flatter? I shot a 275 last night, which was the lowest preshot number for a while, but he didn't slide down from there like I hoped, he went back up to the 300's by morning.

I'm wondering if I should hold at 1.25u for a while since I've seen some random better numbers, or keep my plan going to keep increasing until I see something dramatic? I'm encouraged that he is dropping some, with ProZinc it seemed like the more insulin he got, the higher his numbers went, so I gave up, dropped back and just held at 1.2u to keep him steady.

I think he is still settling on this dose and the lowest numbers he has seen caused a bit of a bounce. You could give it another 1-2 days on 1.25u and see if he comes down more overall. However, I do think he will end up needing more insulin, so you could raise him to 1.5u any time. The only caveat to that is that raising too fast can cause BG swings to set in.

Yes, lev should keep a flatter curve, but that can take time to get established.
