[Kathleen fortune]

Just found out an hour ago after a traumatic morning event that my Lily has diabetes and an enlarged kidney. She is on an overnight stay at the vet and I'm trying to learn what I can before I bring her home tomorrow (hopefully). I'm scared and missing my study buddy

That must have been quite a shock, sweetheart. And it's no wonder that you're scared right now. That's only natural.
But please know that diabetes is treatable; and there are many things that could cause an enlarged kidney (even an infection can cause it).

You have come to the right place. I wish I had thought to look up a site like this when Jack was first diagnosed. As others have said, the diabetes is very treatable. You will get such great information and support here. More than once my mind has been put at ease by what I have read here.
