Just a quick update on my civie, Lil Mouse. The Baytril injections seem to be helping with the lung congestion, she's breathing a little easier, a little. I got some Hill's a/d food (critical care) and thank the wonderful Lord, she LOVES it and eats like a little horse now! After only a few days on it I can tell she's starting to fill out a little. She was under 5 lbs at the last vet visit, she had declined so much more, lost a half lb, in spite of me syringe feeding her. I don't want to get my hopes up too far but I'm starting to have a good feeling that maybe we'll get her turned around. There's still the laryngeal polyps that we can't do anything about, but she seems more comfortable this morning, so I guess that's something... :cat:

wonderful news--my older non FD kitty gets AD a few times a week--keeps a bit of weight on him and he likes it too (most of the time) it is not that bad in carbs either ...
so glad she is feeling good!!!

Tammy, it gladdens my heart to hear that you've found food and medicine that is helping your Li'l Mouse (anti-jinx, anti-jinx). I know how very special she is to you. Sending a prayer that the a/d will help to build her up and give her more strength.

I'm afraid I'll be saying goodbye to my sweet Lil Mouse today. Her breathing is so bad and she's stopped eating again. She hates being force fed and has been steadily declining these past few days. Last night she looked at me with the saddest eyes, as if asking me to let her go.

I started bottle feeding her when she was about 5 days old and she's been the nicest little kitty. This is going to kill me...

(((Tammy))) I am so sorry Lil Mouse is declining again. Would another injection of Baytril help??

You two are so close & you will know when the right time is. Sending healing vines and prayers.

I am so sorry. It is a very hard place to be in. You love your baby and I know you want her to stay with you, but you also don't want her to be suffering. We are the ones that suffer the pain when we let them go and it is so hard to know sometimes that it is one of the greatest acts of love. I wish you strength. She may rally, sometimes they do, even if it is just to say good bye. Prayers and positive energy as you walk this path.
