Libre readings - post/record on SS and thread?

Teya and Tweety

Hi there, Tweety wears a Libre. I am gone now about 6 hours a day. Wondering (after reading her curves in the graph) if I should record those in her SS?

Numbers will not be exact... but close. Today she went down @ approx +7 145 (around 1:00 p.m.)

I record all readings from Libre in SS. Look at mine. You may do as much as you choose to do.

Thank you! Curious... do you place the Libre yourself? My vet will for $60 but then I've gotta drug her, etc. Also, did you have to change anything in your phone to get the Libre 3 to work from the basic Libre?

Last question... do you place it in the same spot each time?

Feel free to ask as many questions as you like I’m happy to answer. Don’t feel like you need to restrict the questions. It’s a lot to learn.
yys, I put them on myself. My vet put the first one on and that was the last one I had them put on.
I decided if I was going to use the Libre I needed to learn how to do it. I’ve been doing it for almost a year.
It’s actually quite easy and I have a very difficult cat, so if I can do it, anyone can do it.
You just have to study up.
Yes I do change sides each time I put a new Libre on. You want the skin to heal so you don’t want to keep putting it on the same spot. You want to give the skin a chance to breathe.
Also you want the Libre 3 app on your phone so that you can monitor.
You’re going to use one phone that you leave with your cat and you connect it through the LibreLinkUp app. That’s how you monitor it on your phone, the one you take with you wherever you go, does that make sense?

Thank you so much! Yes I did watch the last couple times and it doesn't seem very hard at all. I even bought Adhesive remover and skin glue to add a few drops to help it stick like the vet did.

I don't have the best razer though. But maybe one of her old spots will work. We've had them on since January 3rd with no break. We typically take a break. But I don't want to for a while.

I'll get an old phone ready this weekend. Thank you!!! I get it...I can setup the phone that stay home with her but can Montour from my normal cell.

I do not use any skin glue.
All the guides tell you not to use it. It can tear up their skin and it can stop the Libre from working.
Have you read the guides on the Libre Facebook group for all the do’s and don’ts?

I use Brava spray, coconut oil and baby oil to gently remove the sensor. Since no glue is used it gently comes off.

OK... geez. I just read up on the tips they give. There's a lot to these things. Ever one she has had on used extra glue and they always lasted all 14 days.

Hmm. Well I'm going to get this one on myself! It's time. Not worth putting her through all that for something I can do in 20 minutes. I guess I'll skip the glue but she always did great with it. I certainly don't want to hurt her. I have Adhesive remover but it's liquid. I'm sure it'll help!

I know. It’s a project. Just read all the guides and information. I watched videos and studied it all.
Wishing you all the best luck!! When are you due to replace your current one?
Do you have it covered? Use a tegaderm covering? A tee shirt or some type of covering so it can’t be pulled off?

It's due Tuesday night but I'm probably just going to get it done this weekend when I'm more relaxed. We'll see!

No, I don't cover it as she is totally oblivious to it which is fabulous. I'll decide which option soon... but I am also feeling like since it's working for her why change it. She would hate a shirt. So, I'll watch videos etc and see/feel what's best for her.

Main goal is to get a phone ready to rock and figure out where to place it in my house. She hangs out in two areas and one is upstairs and one down. So not close together. Trial is all I can do! Plus she'll walk by it at some point to drink or is the litter box.

Sounds like a great plan. As long as she doesn’t mess with it, and some cats don’t, you’re fine! :bighug:
