Hi All,

I have a question regarding the Libre. Every time I attach the sensor, it reads with 10% of my human reader. However, within a few hours the reading start to differ by over 200pts!! My Prodigy reader will say 329, Alpha Trak will be 355, and the Libre will read 110!! I tried several sensors (Libre, Libre 2, and Libre 3.) and they all act the same way. I am lost at this point. I apply the sensor correctly and it's not loose. I have gone through about 6 sensors now.

Any thoughts as to why this is happening? An help would be greatly appreciated!

Each meter has an allowed variance of +/- 20%. The higher the number the bigger the gap, low number smaller gap, usually

Pet meters and human meter can’t be directly compared as they are calibrated differently (pet/human blood).

While the Libre is a handy tool, it measures interstitial fluids, not blood and can often have a 15min delay. Not to mention how often I’ve seen them read ‘lo’ (which is anything under 40) be 60-70 on a blood meter.

I tried at the beginning to compare the freestyle lite against the contour one next against the alpha trak and went bananas. Ended up sticking with my freestyle lite (human meter).

If you can, I’d stick with one hand held meter and look at the trends and patterns along with the numbers. If you continue to use the Libre, I highly recommend dbl checking with a hand held at lower numbers to verify

I see greater difference at first but as time progresses the readings get closer. Here is my comparison from this Feb.
What clipper do you use to clip the fur?
What do you use after clipping the fur?
Where are the sensors attached?
How long do the sensors last?
