Our cat is now on Levemir, the vet gave us a bottle, he said a lady gets it from her doctor. I don't know if they will give us another one when we run out. I looked on the Canada Pharmacy website and they just have the pens, can you use them on cats? He just needs 1 unit. Plus does anyone know how much for shipping and how long it takes to get here.

Yes, you just stick the end of a needled syringe into the end of the pen where the pen needle would go and draw out the Levemir just like from a vial. The only difference is that yo do NOT inject air into the pen. The pen has a movable stopper on other end that will move i as insulin is withdrawn.

Yes you can. You get 5 pens and keep refrigerated. They should last 3-4months a pen. Which syringes did they give you? u40 or u100? Scroll down the pictures are on this page of how to insert the syringe to pen. with the pen dont put air back into it though. http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/...-insulin-info-handling-drawing-fine-doses.151/
Ok thanks, I am not sure which syringes they gave us they are thin with a orange cap, they gave us some free ones and a script for when they run out

orange cap would be correct. you can buy more syringes at local pharmacy, walmart or online at adw for a lot cheaper then the vet office.
