Levemir dosage

I haven't been in FDMB for a while. Work has been really busy and I have been just keeping an eye on the BG of Fafa.

Fafa has been on 9.5u of Levemir for a while. She has more blues but also more pinks after she is on 9.5u.

Any suggestion if I should continue with 9.5u levemir?

Thanks Bron. I am sorry to hear about Wendy's dad. Hope he has a speedy recovery.

Fa's appetite is ok. She seems normal other than the higher BG.

It's 6 cycles since her last blue. I will maybe give it one more day today to see if she can come down. It seems she goes high for a few days after each blue.

Holding another day is fine, she did get down to 113 on this dose, which is pretty decent.

I am sorry to hear about Wendy's dad. Hope he has a speedy recovery.

Thanks. He's 97, speedy isn't in his vocabulary. Just complicated cause none of the hospitals allow visitors due to Covid. Been spending lots of time on the phone with staff there.

oh I can imagine how hard it is at this moment to deal with the hospital, but in a way it is to ensure the safety of everyone to the best they can.

I intend to give the increase over the weekend. It’s good to see those blue numbers and hopefully she can get over the pinks.

@Wendy&Neko We have increased the dose to 10 u last night but these two days seem a bit high.

plus that Fa seems to drink more water after food.

I tested her urine with a ketone meter and it is 0.4. Shall I be concerned ?

You might be seeing a little New Dose Wonkiness (NDW) now, which is temporary higher numbers shortly after an increase, as the depot resettles. She should come down soon. As for ketones, 0.4 is OK, just keep an eye on them and test again soon. 2.4 to 2.6 the area of concern in a cat. I'm glad she's drinking, that will help flush out any ketones.

I expected the New Dose Wonkiness but together with the drinking water part, and the ketone 0.4 ( we tested before and it was 0.1),so I was a bit concerned.

we will keep an eye on BG and test her ketone again then. Thanks very much Wendy.

The change from 9.5u to 10 u does not help. It seems Fa has been pink these days. Not sure what has caused this.

Any suggestion what I should do ? I miss those blue days and worry for Fs to stay so high.

Surely will do. I will open a new thread tomorrow and do testing in the day time.

Work from home stopped so I only managed to test a few times a day but I can do it Sunday.
