Last night I went back to the 1 unit marked syringes and used the count-the-drops method to measure 1.75u. Much easier using a smooth syringe than a crappy one with 1/2 unit markings. He had a good response in the night, but is cruising up after his AM shot. Hmmm. Looking back a couple cycles, he might just be still bouncing from the dose and syringe change.

Funny story -
I was up for his +2 last night, and it was around the time that his automatic feeder opens for a meal. It grinds for about 3 seconds as it rotates the next meal around the wheel. He's had it in there for 2 days, but I didn't know how he reacted to it. Sometimes he wasn't in the room when it turned on, so maybe he's only heard it a few times. Anyway, it turned on while I was in there, and Leo jumped up from our loving and just stared at it like it was an intruder. He inched over to it, bobbing his head, and barely sniffed at it like it would jump out and bite him, knowing the food was there but scared to stick his nose in there. I went over and scratched him, and then he calmed down and started to eat. But it was so funny to watch him go on Red Alert when it turned on!

Hi guys .. glad to hear you've found an easy way to get the right measurement for leo .. Could be bouncing as you said .. just hoping that he decides to bring it back down, rather then go even higher up! Cute on the auto feeder story .. mocha never showed any fear towards hers .. she would eagerly run to it when she heard it going off .. course, she loves her turkey and giblets so much I don't think anything would stop her from eating! Have a great day guys!

HI Peter - I think Leo will get used to the feeder, especially now that he's getting locked up in his room with it. Since he looooves his Fancy Feast, it won't take long!

I'm not sure what's up with his values - he's acting like he didn't even get an injection this morning!

I bought a 2 meal feeder, still waiting for it to come.
Those suspicious noises have to become music to their ears after they figure it out.

Hope my girl figures it out.
She didn't care for her fountain. Guess I'll try again with that one if I can find all the parts.

Hope Leo slides back down soon.

Re: Leo 9/4 AMPS 215 +2 335 +5 332

Thanks Jane - I think Leo's numbers may stay high. We just as a short and furious thunderstorm go through and he actually howled. I think he was traumatized as a kitten by storms or something. He gets so scared and squashes into a little meatloaf. So unlike his normal I-own-the-house attitude.

Thanks Rhiannon - I looked at one of the 2 meal feeders and I liked each for different reasons. I have the 5 meal rotating one and only one meal can be served at a time. I programmed a "meal" at +9 that's empty ... so he wouldn't leave all his food to near pre-shoot time and screw up the numbers. The downside is that if he doesn't eat his +3 meal by the time +6 rolls around, he loses the +3 meal (because it rotates away) and only has the +6. So he could be shortchanged if he isn't on the ball. The 2-feeder I think you're talking about wouldn't do that, but it also doesn't close after a certain time (if I am thinking of the one you are getting). We'll see how he does on this, and I know I could be buying the other if he short-changes himself too often. He only "lost" one meal so far. But if he's in his room (when we are away) he'll hear it so I think he won't miss any. Let me know how yours works out. I saw a video of one of the 2-feeders where the cat was smart enough to pull the tray forward under the lid and get at some of the food!

Hi Lisa, Glad the counting the drops is easier for you, sorry I missed your questions about it yesterday. Leo looks fairly steady today, hope the storm did not stress him out too much, poor kitty. Have a great day!

Re: Leo 9/4 AMPS 215 +2 335 +5 332

Leslie - oh no problem! There's so much going on and with working and all, everyone gets busy!

The storm stuck around for a little while after its big thunderous debut. About an hour ago, he zipped straight under the couch with his tail between his legs. Poor boy! I won't see him probably until I have to drag him out for a +10. Hmmm... about 90 minutes from now!

Thanks, Carla. Looks like he's going to be a little stinker on this bounce, but I'll let him blame the thunderstorm for a bit of it. He finally wandered out from underneath the couch when I casually mentioned, "Chicken?" ... and then sat patiently for his +10 and actually sat on my lap for about 2 whole minutes. (That's new!) So hopefully he'll start down in the night and maybe give mamabean a yellow.
