Hi everyone
Sadly I am pretty sure that Tansi is losing remission after about a month off the juice.
At what level do you think I will need to give insulin again?
Is a trip to the vet a good idea first?
Should I do a curve, will this give some good information?
My lantus has been in the fridge since end of May and says it expires 2023. Should still be good, right?
Many thanks ❤❤❤

Hi Cindy, sorry to see that Tansi's numbers are higher. A mid-cycle check like Susanne suggested is a very good idea. That would give us info on whether to start and when and how much.

I see that there was a food change in the SS? Is he on a new food? Back to the old food?
Are they are any other issues with him that could cause his numbers to go higher? Any infection etc?

Going forward, if you start posting on the Lantus forum, you will get advice from many experienced Lantus users.

Ok many thanks @Bandit's Mom
No, there have been no food changes. He was a few days introducing tiki cat when numbers started to climb, so I discontinued. Now he is back on rawz with a little fancy feast pate for interest. No infections.
I will test tonite and see how it goes.
Will check on lantus board too tomorrow.
Many thanks as always.

Hi Cindy,

My cat has a super sensitive little body and even a few days of a new diet that may not agree with him has resulted in an increase in glucose, so maybe just maybe (prayers), if the food caused some level of inflammation it will resolve with the return to the old food once the intestines are back to normal.
I saw the IBS listed & am hoping for it to be the issue. I actually use the glucose to help me out with diet changes. Often I will see glucose rise before I see any obvious clinical issues occur & I will abandon the food pretty quickly if the trend continues. Just a thought. It usually takes T several days off of the food that caused the issue for glucose to come back down. Wishing you and Tansi the best and a return to normal glucose :bighug:.
