Tobey went back in vet since he has become so picky and hardly eating anymore. He lost 3 lbs total since this began. He was almost a 13lb cat and is now 10. I can barely stand going through this but I am a mother of 2 girls and I have to hold it together somehow. He was my baby before I had kids. Of course I can't even give insulin because he won't eat enough. Vet said he shows high liver levels. 2 areas of liver readings and the one of concern is not the one where he is at risk for fatty liver so much, but showing signs of either hepatitis C or pancreatitis, or an infection. He is a former IBD patient from 2 years ago so he may have had a flare up in intestine and it affected his liver and pancreas. Now I am force feeding only small amounts at a time. It is not enough food. He seems to try to eat but backs off because he is nauseated. He is on anti nausea & vomiting pill, appetite stimulant pill, and an antacid. Also just started antibiotic. I just don't understand how my cat can go from vestibular disease, take steroids for 3 weeks, get weaned off then immediately have diabetes, and now Hep C?? What the heck? I feel like my vet caused all of this. I don't trust a lot of vets. They cause more than they fix. Now I just need to get him to eat. I have tried so many different foods. We just started meds 12 hours ago so hopefully they'll kick in soon. I gave 2nd round of those meds this morning so I won't know much until I get back home from work in about 5 hours. All I want right now is to get this boy to eat more. Wish I could find that food he just can't resist. Force feeding Royal Canin Recovery and he hates it.

You will get through this - I know it's hard right now but you can do it! :bighug:
Right now if it were my cat, I'd be feeding him anything he will eat, even if it's 'forbidden' food like gravy etc. Better to get something into him now and then sort everything out when he's feeling better. Of course he's your cat and it's your call what decision you make.
Sending good vibes and prayers for you all!

Have you tried the all meat baby food? If he won't eat it, it's easy to syringe. Just make sure there is no seasonings, onions or garlic. Also, please check for ketones!!!!!

We had a check for ketones on Monday and he had none at all. I will try the baby food tonight also going to try some moist air dried core. It is new. Thanks so much.
