Late shot

I had a super long day and got home tested and fed the cat but forgot to give insulin. I just realized it 2.5 hours later. His sugar was 503 when I realized it. I gave him 2 units instead of his normal 3. What would you do? Did I do the right thing? What do I do about his next shot?

Hi. Sorry I didn’t see this until this morning. I would have shot his regular insulin amount last night since shooting late was already going to let his numbers climb. This morning, depending upon his AMPS, you may still be able to shoot at his normal shot time. Normally, we don’t recommend shooting closer together than 11.5 hours, but because you gave a reduced dose which will probably cause him to be higher than normal (we will see) I think it will be okay to shoot at the usual time instead of working back by 30 minutes a day to the correct shot time. What is the normal shot time?

I’m sorry Kitty Kitty is so bouncy! It takes some cats more time than others to adjust. You are doing a really great job of monitoring his cycles. How is he feeling/acting?
