Can anyone recommend a place to purchase syringes that measure by 1/4 units? My vet is recommending a starting does of 1 1/4 units of Lantus for my cat based on his weight. My pharmacist does not carry these.

There are no U-100 syringes which measure quarter units. You just eyeball it between half units.
A magnifier of some sort may help.

I like the Carson Clip and Flip magnifiers which clip onto one's eyeglasses. You can find them on our shopping Parter Amazon's web site - link at top of page.

Oh what a joy quarter markings would be altho' it would still be so small we'd have to use magnifiers!

New experience for you to try - fill syringe to any mark with water then, holding the needle up, start twisting the plunger to begin releasing drops. We call this 'dial a dose'.... :-D You'll discover that there are THREE size drops in each quarter. After playing for a bit, you'll be able to make a bitty small drop, a medium size (won't run down the needle) and a large one that will run down the needle. When you can make those, you can now easily dial any dose down to that amount!

See? It's not so hard.... :-D

Wow! Thanks for all the great ideas. The syringes that have only mark whole units. Is there at least one that marks 1/2 units since the 1/4 don't exist? That might be easier.

There are half unit marked insulin syringes that nearly everyone here uses :-D

The markings typically look like this:

Here's a recent thread about brands and where to buy half unit marked insulin syringes: http://felinediabetes.com/FDMB/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=86758

Some people even use calipers with half unit markings to more precisely measure teeny doses.

Thank you all for your help. Now I know what stringes to but and where to get them. I started Pumpkin on 1 unit of Lantus yesterday.
