Has anyone wasted about 1 shot amount of Lantus in a vial? The vial is holding about that amount as we speak, and I'm beginning to wonder if the reason behind her rising #'s today is maybe the insulin in this vial is starting to peter out, if it hasn't already.

I haven't seen her eat any contraband as I've been extremely vigilant after their morning meal this morning.

Thank you in advance.

have you examined the vial carefully (magnifying glass in bright light) for any visible crystals/floaties? my first vial lasted about 2.5 months before i saw the tiniest crystals forming.

although, i peeked at your ss. imho, the last dose reduction is not holding well. i'd be tempted to put some fat on the dose.

I think I'm going to toss this vial (it was opened July 25th), and start on a cartridge. There's only 1 dose left anyway. Yes, I check the vial each time before I use it.

Watch closely if you are staying with the same dose but using a new, fresh cart.
You may just get some very good numbers.

My pens of Lantus generally last around 3 months so that could definitely improve your numbers a bit.

This is a vial that was opened July 25th. It currently has about a dose and a smidge left in the bottle. So,it's pretty much empty as it is. I hate wasting good insulin, however, if it's getting old, then there's no point in giving her the remaining dose and smidge.

I've never wasted anything like this before, so I'm apprehensive about it. I know that Lantus isn't cheap.
