Can anyone tell me right off the bat if they have had luck using the Lantue pen savings card at pharmacies and which ones? Walgreens, CVS, Walmart, etc? Do vets offices accept them? I don't have my card as there was an error when I enrolled online so I had to call to get my ID#s. Also, the website says it's good on 6 prescriptions. Does that mean it's good only for 6 individual pens, or would I be able to use it for a discount on 6 boxes of 5 pens each? I will probably be buying insulin today so any info you can help me with would be much appreciated.
 
Also, the customer service rep I spoke with on the phone said I needed to have insurance - and since this is for my cat, I don't have pet insurance. So I'm assuming the vet will write a prescription for the pen and I take it to my regular pharmacy, present my prescription card? I'm a little confused.

My pharmacy asked if I was self-pay and I told them that yes, I didn't have any insurance. They accepted the card. I don't know if it works on a pack of 5 pens; I've only used it on single pens. Post when you get back from pharmacy and let me know how it went :-D
 
I got a single pen at Walmart and forgot the savings card. When I asked the girl at the pharmacy, she said that they accept them and I can come back within 30 days with my receipt and the savings card and get my "savings" still. That was two weeks ago and I just haven't gotten back to Walmart since, so I can't say for certain if they truly take the savings card, but at least they say they do....
 
I have uses them at two different pharmacies. They are not valid in some states. The card should say which state(s). Regarding insurance, you can't both use the card to get money and then get full reimbursement from an insurance company.
 
Can someone post the link to get one of these cards? I will need to get a new prescription for Ricky soon and this will help since we can no longer order Lantus from Canada.
