Has any one have a sugar kitty on Lantus 1x daily. Micah is down to 0.4 the last few weeks and now needs to drop down farther. My vet recommended 0.5 once a day then do a curve in 10 days?
Has any one have a sugar kitty on Lantus 1x daily. Micah is down to 0.4 the last few weeks and now needs to drop down farther. My vet recommended 0.5 once a day then do a curve in 10 days?
Mine was switched on 1U 1x daily per the vet a few weeks after diagnosis, because their 24 hour curve showed she was holding on to the dose much longer than 12 hours and they were concerned about her dropping too low with a second shot.
Once I started home testing - I understood what they meant (you can see it at the start of my spreadsheet) but I was concerned about her preshots -and the FDMB folks told me it was much better to cut the dose and stay with 2x day...I took their advice and now have much better and consistent preshots.
