Hi everyone- going to start home testing next soon and just wondering what is best - use a device or lancet? I've noticed both on the videos.
And what are the best ones of each available in Australia?

Thanks!

I just use the lancet. Easier to aim at the blood vessel. I find the device very hard to accurately get the right spot.

Same here. It was way too difficult to use the whole device when I first started. I never got the right spot and my poor cat was not happy. It was much better just using the lancet in the holder.

Not all lancet pens/devices are equal. I have tried many and maybe just 1/4 of them worked for me. I really like the old pens that came with the OneTouch meters. But the threads that hold the cap on wear out since the cap has to be removed to change lancets

I started the first week testing with the device but quickly found it just got in the way. The device is more useful for testing human fingers than cat ears. Get a 28 gauge.... Doesn't matter the brand.

I use the alpha track device with the freestyle lancet in it.

Alpha track lancets 30/$30 @ vet

Freestyle 30/$12ish at Target.

It's the same product with different packaging.
