I need new lancets, and I'm wondering. Do I need Relion lancets for my Relion Confirm? Or can II use generic lancets, if there is such a thing? Also, the best place to buy them? Thanks in advance!

Greetings!

I am pretty much a newbie myself, but I don't think you need to use the lancets that match your machine as the lancets aren't going into the machine at all, it is just what you are using to get your sample.

I think the ReliOn brand is the generic brand that is sold by Walmart. That is where I have gotten mine....I believe I got a box of 100 for less than $4.00

The brand of the lancets don't matter, most will fit multiple lancet pens, look at the box though it should state it. Although sometimes they will be a bit loose but not enough not to use them. I buy mine at Walgreens and get the walgreens brand, at least in my area they are cheaper than what is offered at walmart.

Any lancets work if you free hand the pricking.
26-28 gauge may work best when just starting out.

Relion is a Walmart bran but most lancets universally fit other product lines. These are fairly economical and should fit your needs quite well. This is a learning process for all of us. And it is good to have a forum in which we can share information and our experiences as well. Good luck, and they can be used more than once. Jane and Stewey
