Talbot is my oldtimer diabetic cat. He is doing well but I have a question about my son's cat "Charlie". Charlie was my fathers cat and my son adopted him after my father died.
Charlie is 16 or 17 and was diagnosed last Friday as having advanced tumors in his stomach, chest and probably his kidneys. He was brought to the vet because he was not eating. They gave bupe, an anti nausea and mirtz. He is eating now, plays some, sharpens his nails and wants to be petted, so for now we feel he is still enjoying his life. The danger is the fluid around his lungs. My son and his girlfriend are hoping to know when to pts without him suffering.
My son's GF called today and said that Charlie's fur smells like iron. That blood/iron smell. I have no idea what would cause that or if it means anything. He did have some diarrhea this morning but otherwise seems fine. Any ideas?
