OK day 2 for Arthur aka Boo Boo in foster at my house. He will be a courtesy post of DCIN so help me out!

One thing I have learned is that he doesn't really respond to "Boo Boo" which has been his name in his home of 10 years. Maybe it's context, maybe my inflection is wrong. But one thing is for sure -- he doesn't respond to "Arthur" his newly given shelter name, either.

So I hereby announce a re-naming contest. There is no rush, take time to get to know his purrsonality through my posts -- I promise to let you come on this journey with him. Let's give him a new name for a new life, but one that suits him.

So here is the video:

I have called it "Boo Boo and the Surprised Look."

Can you see what I mean about him having a surprised look on his face all the time?

I am sure that is the "what did I do to deserve this? I can't believe they dumped me!" look.

As for his progress diabetes-wise, he's pretty much been in the 300s since his shot of lantus this am. I gave him a fat unit tonight and I will stick with that for several days and see what happens.

Let me know what you think!

I name him Tucker!! No.. no ... wait, I got mixed up

He's so sweet, how could you not have grabbed that belly, so many missed opportunities :) His eyes seemed a little sad, but not horribly so. He certainly is interested in his surroundings and loves to purr, that was great to see. He looks like he's a real love bug, can't wait until he starts to feel comfortable and show more of that.

I could see what you meant about his front paws, they look tiny for his size. He's definitely a special little man.

He's beautiful!

He does look a bit confused, but hopefully in a few more days will feel better about the whole thing. He's certainly not running away from you or anything... and that belly!! Awwwww!

I don't have a name yet, but will keep thinking

I want to call him George... but that's probably because he looks a lot like Tugger's half brother from the second litter. My neighbor took the sole survivor of that litter (mama had gotten some sort of virus or something and passed it through her milk and we lost 4 of the 5) and she named him George because he was so curious. That boy had a strong urge for exploration and getting to know the world he lived in =) He struggled hard to make it though that illness and then he just thrived! He grew to be a large kitty and as far as I knew he never lost his curiosity =) I wish I knew how he's doing now. Lost touch with that neighbor after we each moved. But your nameless-one reminds me very much of George. So that's my vote ;)

Herbie - as in Herbie the love bug car
Sebastian - because I think tuxes (and he's close enough) ought to be named Sebastian

Ralph - just because it's silly sounding

or come up with a regal, stoic name that will be fitting for his new life

Oh, my, isn't he handsome. Do you know whether he gets along with other cats? Has he been FIV/FeLV tested?

It has to be a people name. My vote is for Martin. That was my brother Les's middle name, which he hated passionately. But I don't think Leslie would work for a male cat, would it?

I showed Jim the video. He laughed at Arthur/BooBoo/Martin's belly.
