Greetings from Diabetic Alley!

Everything is going pretty good in the Alley!

Kitty (tid)---- I inadvertantly shot at +7 last night instead of +8. Once I realized what I had done, I fed more food and tested her early to be sure she was not dropping too soon or too low. But, everything was fine and she was happy, because she got more food! But, her schedule got changed due to the blunder-- she is still on a crazy schedule....5:30 am, 1:30 pm and 9:30 pm. I put this here to remind myself!

Chewy---- I am waiting for a bounce! Kitty was so hard to get in any type of decent numbers and it was so frustrating. So, maybe I am being given a "pass" with Chewy. Call it luck or whatever--but, he is doing Great on the skinny 1.5...well, at least for now! I have been around here too long...I know it is just a matter of time! But, for now things are Great! And, did I mention his transport has been postponed! ;-)

Wishing everyone a Great Day from Diabetic Alley (aka Kittyville).......

Hey, you don't often find some man sweet enough to wait in the morning till you are awake, and then greet you withbheadbutts and purrs. This guy is a keeper!

Well, you deserve an easy kitty. Isn't it amazing how different they can be?

Oh i thought loverboy had taken your heart. So glad to hear the kitties are doing so well. You are doing a fantastic job.

Is he going to a good home and family?

Yes, he already has one! He's home, Kim just hasn't admitted it yet. Kim, remember when I wouldn't name Petunia cause I didn't want to admit she was home.

Okay Barbara, so you think I should keep him! Do you think he is enjoying his view or wanting to escape?

He looks pretty content to me.

At least with Kitty's new schedule you're just getting up early instead of the middle of the night.

I hope all in Diabetic Alley have a great day.

Are you kidding??? He's just enjoying a beautiful NC day in the fresh air, after all, it IS February, isn't it???!!! I think his "welcome home" present from Auntie Lu may just be his own birdfeeder!!! ;-)

Nice report from the Alley. I cannot believe how well Chewy is doing in such a short period of time. Even the picture you posted seems so drastically different that the 1st picture where he looked sooo skinny and scruffy. It's an amazing transformation. Great job!!

I think he's just enjoying the view & he will like it even better when Lu gets him a birdfeeder! He looks totally different than those first pictures!

He is still a little shaggy! I only post the Best pictures. He has mats in his fur- I have tried to comb them out with little luck. He needs grooming--maybe shaving! He is REALLY skinny--bones and fur.

You're free feeding him aren't you? All mine are free fed so it didn't take Petunia long to fatten up. She was skin & bones when she came here also. It was a long time before she stopped eating a whole can of FF 4 times a day & snacking on what the others left. She was the smallest but was eating more than the others & I just gave her as much as she wanted. Since she has put on some weight she has stopped being a little pig. I have seen some other cats shaved, maybe your vet could do it.

I had one of mine shaved this fall and it looked pretty cool! I am going to attempt to comb him and get the mats out before shaving him. I need to run the "shaving" by Venita and be sure it is okay. I am free feeding him-- I don't have actual scales to weigh him on, but he "feels" heavier since arriving.

Oh, Kim - what a good mommy you are! Chewy knows how good he's got it and is lovin' this NC winter (Thurs is supposed to be close to 80 degrees) - of course, when summer hits and we're eaten up by bugs because we didn't get enough cold weather, we'll all be complaining - gotta have something to complain about it

Chewy is beautiful and does look much better than those first pictures you posted. I know, pictures don't show the whole story, though, same is true for Hershey.

Wishing you a peaceful night -

Libby (and Hershey, too!)
