Update on Kitty---Ketones are gone, infection is "probably" still present--but blood is no longer in urine. The vet has changed the antibiotic to Zeniquin to treat the infection.
She is taking 2.5 units of PZI TWICE(yest I said twice!) a day--but her BG is still running high and her curve is very short. She is starting her curve at about 485 and only dropping for about 6 hours with a low of 300. This is so unlike anything I have seen--but, the vet thinks it is a result of the infection.
Being new to this, I am scared she is becoming somewhat resistant to the insulin. Do you think once the infection is better controlled her BG will come down?
Tonight is the first night I did not transport her back to the Emergency Vet for treatment throughout the night. The vet thinks she is stable enough to stay at the regular vet hospital.
Thoughts please?
Thanks!
Kim
