Babu-Chiri has started getting some dark spots in his back that he had never had before the vet's theory is that is a change in pigment but he had never had them before they all came out on the past couple of weeks and not in the places where I'm shooting him

Has anyone had something like this?
Is it common that he developed this spots because of DM and in such a short time?

I'm posting two photos the first one was taken two weeks ago and the second one last night

Found this doing a search for skin pigmentation in cats. If these markings are where you usually inject, then perhaps this is the explanation.
Injection site alopeci - Hair loss at the site of an injection of a medication or vaccine;
- skin may become thickened;
- in cats, ulcers may develop
- Hair loss occurs several months after injection;
- area may become hyperpigmented
- History and physical examination None;
- the condition is permanent

Thanks but Even though some may be where I have shooted most of them are in places where I have never shoot him

Thanks for that information. Is there any other unusual symptoms such as generalized hair loss or pot-bellied appearance?

No there's not a generalized hair loss but his hair is not growing at his usual rate
As for the pot-bellied appearence yes he has developed a small belly even though he is still under his usual weight

Hi Veronica,

Ask your vet to do some blood work to check for any underlying problems, including endocrine functions. Also check B12/folate levels (deficiency can affect nutrient absorption).

Re the pot-bellied appearance ask your vet to check for basics, too, e.g. intestinal gas.

Saoirse had very slow hair regrowth after being shaved for some scans last year. The hair regrowth rate improved when I started supplementing her diet with b-complex vitamins. Is Babu-chiri peeing a lot? If yes, he may be losing b-vitamins in his pee. Poor regulation can also slow hair regrowth.

He has already been checked for thyroid problems and he is ok

He is certainly peeing a lot and we haven't been able to regulate him yet his numbers have been slowly improving but still going as high as 357

But I got to admit that I'm more worried for the spots than for the slow growth
