Good Morning!

Kitty is still eating! In fact, maybe she is eating TOO much, not to mention the treats she gets after taking her meds! She ate two cans of food last night-- the non friendly everything she has food! I have been testing and shooting bid and this morning she was HI. I shot 3.5 units and will test at +8 to see if I can start her back on tid-- if not, I will dose at 10 hours or when needed. I have been afraid to introduce any "new" foods, as she only seems to like the one. But, this morning I gave her a spoonful of Friskies Turkey and Giblets Special Diet and she did eat it. This would be a much better choice.........IF she will eat it. I could not get an appointment with the cardiologist for 2 more weeks, so I have a call in to the internalist to make an appointment and have her blood work repeated before seeing the Cardio Dr. I think two weeks is too long to wait. The heart meds are not kidney and pancreas friendly, and I don't want to wait too long to see if they need adjusting. She appeared a little dehydrated today and is drinking A LOT. I have never liked giving her bupe and the wonky effect it has on her, so I did reduce that to once a day starting yesterday. If this reduction seems premature and she exhibits any signs of pain-- I will go back to twice a day dosing. She slept on the bed with me last night, and I woke up twice to her purring! I woke up completely to check her and be sure it was purrs of happiness and not distress....but, all seemed Good! She is so frail, but maybe if she continues to eat she will get stronger.

Sir CHEWY checked in at 71 this morning---- 3.5 weeks with NO insulin! This was after 2 cans of food....this is his lowest reading ever, his pancreas must be continuing to heal! I think he wants to stay with me and the girls forever.........I need to see a therapist!

Thanks for the continued good vibes for Kitty--- I am so happy to see her eating, but she has declined so much in just a matter of weeks.

Wishing Everyone a Great Day from Diabetic Alley.....

~O) Good Morning to all in the Alley.

Sooooo happy she is eating, get stronger Ms. Cool Kitty. I'd be concerned about the pain throwing off her progress, can you decrease the dose and still give it to her twice a day?

Yay for Sir Chewy, king of his castle. Do you really think he wants to stay???? What a lucky guy he is to have landed in the Alley, and seemlessly blend in with everyone without a hitch.

If I ever become diabetic I know where I'm heading to. :-D

Continued prayers for healing, eating and greens.

I agree Robin, I did think about reducing the dose and still giving twice a day. The syringes are prefilled-- so I would need to empty the cotents and refill all the syringes! She doesn't appear in pain, but Cats hide pain very well. YES! Sir Chewy wants to Stay.....he follows me around everywhere!

Kitty in her Hospital Bandages and Sir Chewy relaxing!

IMHO...

I think Kitty has made it over the biggest hurdle. She's not out of the woods just yet, but she can see the sun - and it's bright!

Kim's done an amazing job with her, balancing the pharmacy that she has to deal with daily... but to see Kitty, and see her eat, and know she's sleeping on the bed, purring, enjoying her sunporch, (and glaring at me when I stopped in!), I think she's on the road back to the good life that she enjoys!

Great job Kim - Keep it up Kitty, Chewy, Sally and all the civvies!!!

Headbonks from Henry and healing and prayers to Kitty from me.
Hope her bloodwork will be better.
Happy purrs are awesome!
Chewy is patiently waiting for his OTJ party and he couldn't have found a better furr-ever home anywhere but diabetic alley!

Glad Kitty is continuing to eat and seems to be feeling a little more like herself! I do hope she'll eat the friendlier food and that her bloodwork gives some clear information!

Chewy is just beautiful! That first picture you sent of him showed he had potential, but your special TLC has really brought it out - and,OF COURSE he wants to stay with you forever! We ALL knew that from the start :-D

Praying for continued progress!

Awwww Ms. Pretty Cool Kitty. What a beauty, I love her pretty face.

Well I now know why Chewy follows you around,
s/Chewy: I was living happily with my family until one day I didn't feel very well and my loving family didn't like me as much any more and they dumped me like trash at a kill shelter where I sat sick and lonely and skeert in a cage not knowing what was going to happen next. But then one day the door opened up and there was a golden light and St. Kim took me out of my hopeless bondage and welcomed me into the Alley and she did the strangest things with my ears but there were treats so whatever and she poked me with medicine and I started to feel better, and there are others here just like me, but not everyone has special ears like Kitty and me.

The difference between the first pics and today are amazing. He was a handsome little man in the first pics for sure but just look at how he has filled out now. WOW!

I came home to give Kitty her heart meds at 2 pm - which was also Kitty's +8. She tested 336-- I fed and shot 2.5-- I think she is eating enough to go back to tid. She did not eat her meal at 2 as well as she has been eating---I am holding my breath. I started back the bupe also-- though I think I got more on my face than she did in her mouth--she spit most of it back on me. So, I got another prefilled syringe and pushed 1/2 of the dose out and gave her the rest. She does not appear in pain, but I did not like seeing her not eat the whole can.

I took her outside and she did walk around some.

I have not heard from the vet. I was hoping to hear from her this morning-- hopefully she will contact me soon.

Holding my breath in Kittyville.......

The pictures are just beautiful!!!! Chewy looks just like my Copper. Wonder if he has maine coon in him?

So glad to see Kitty doing so good! Love hearing the good reports everyday!
