Good Morning!
Kitty is doing pretty good, all things considered. She still is not being very active and pretty much stays in one room all day. Today she has decided that the sunporch is her resting place! The new birdfeeder that I put up for her has finally attracted A LOT of birds! She seems to be enjoying it! I want to wean her off of any meds possible, as some were given just for the acute Ptitis and that seems to be improving. Last night she was due for her appetite stimulant, but she has been eating so well-- I skipped it. This morning she ate her whole can of food, so maybe she is back to eating on her own. I will keep an eye on her though, as I don't want to see any decrease in appetite. I also have not given any bupe in 3 days-- and she doesn't seem to be in pain. There are a couple of anti nausea meds that I hope to stop soon also, but I don't want to try to take them all away at once. She is still on a lot of heart and kidney meds and will remain on them always-- I assume.
Her BGs are out the ROOF! She was 600 amps this morning, I shot 3.5-- that is the largest dose I have shot since her crash started as I haven't been able to count on her eating enought to feel confident with low numbers. The 600 was actually a +8, as I shot tid yesterday. I know she is eating a gravy based food, so I am assuming that is the reason for the higher numbers. As she continues to eat better, I am going to try to get her back on lower carb foods. But, I would rather fight the diabetes than the Ptitis! At least, I don't feel as intimidated by the Diabetes.
Chew Chew is Great! He checked in this morning at a cool 75! I am sure you all can tell by my words, BUT I really LIKE him!
Thanks for the continued Good Vibes for Kitty and the Alley animals!
Wishing Everyone a Great Day from a Sunny and Warm Diabetic Alley.....
