First my Mom-- she is still stable and remains in the Cardiac Care Unit. The Drs. are attempting to avoid surgical procedures by implementing aggressive drug therapy. There are risk associated with the therapy, but we are hoping everything goes okay. As of this afternoon things are progressing nicely.

Now Kitty-- whew.... The substitute vet was scared to give Kitty 4 units on the 318 pmps last night. She reduced the dose to 3.5 and then, due to the vet office hours, she did not get any additional insulin for 14 hours.....needless to say, she was High this morning >600!

My vet was back this morning and gave her 5 units. We have briefly duscussed some "new" Prozic dosing strategies and an insulin switch. We will decide Monday morning where we are headed. I am using my phone-- so it is not easy to type!!!!! I do want to throw the "new" strategies out for your thoughts, once I can get on my PC and type easier!

Kitty has not thrown up any at the vet and is eating well! They are taking her to "Kitty Recess"
today!!! The vet tech is taking Kitty outside to walk, to try and avoid the stiffness she normally develops at the vet!

So, nothing is Great at the present time....But, it could be a lot worse on all fronts!!!

Very nice report on both the Mom and Miss Kitty fronts, Kim. I'll continue to keep both of them in my thoughts.
It's to bad that they can't provide you with a cot or a free bed... :YMHUG:
 
Sending good vibes to you and Kitty and Mom :) hoping that everything works out well and you can quit sleeping in a chair! We needed %'s done yesterday ...... and you weren't here to do it! miss you!
 
Hope things go well with your Mom that she can avoid surgery. God love ya, sleepin' in that chair. The chair ruined what my chiropractor had just fixed :( It’s better than the floor I suppose.

Curious what you are going to do with your insulin choice Kim. I am still undecided. I know, I am a mess about decisions like these. I am supposed to talk to my vet tomorrow and I will keep you guys posted.

I love that Kitty got recess today :) Good on all of ya!
 
Still sending prayers & good vibes to your mom & kitty! Sorry you have to sleep in a chair! Glad to hear Kitty's not throwing up & eating well but sorry they let her get up to 600. Good for them taking her out to get some exercise.

Miss Thumper is trying to give me a hard time. Ugh....what kind of dance is this?? :lol:
 
First, glad your Momisnt gonna have to have any surgery...good luck with the medicine

sorry they were late with her dose a\but it sounds like she is doing well
at the vet which is very good, one less thing for you to worry about (yeah right!)

You really have your plate full, Kim. And they probably don't serve very good wine in the hospital?'

Hope Mom continues to improve and that you and Miss Kitty can soon be back, snuggling in your own bed.

Sounds like Kitty is living it up! Recess & all.... like a stay at the spa!!!

Glad your mom is doing ok and hope she can continue to avoid surgery.
And Kitty sounds like shes doing ok at the vet's other than shooting up to >600.
Cool Kitty recess sounds like a treat.
Why don't they have chairs there like they do at our hospital? When my mom and I stayed 10 straight nights (and days) with my grandpa they had these recliners that pulled out to make a single cot.

Will continue to remember you and your mom in my prayers -- Kitty too! I hope it all works out and that she can avoid surgery. Sorry about sleeping in the chairs, though. Done that myself, though in some places the nurses made a little bed for me which was nice or brought in a cot. Keep us updated. Thanks for checking in.
