Re: Kitty 6/14 pm curve

That is to be expected, how is she feeling? I see everyone starting drinking and I'm cooking dinner ..... something wrong there. ohmygod_smile My kids want to know since Payne got diabetes, why I drink more :)

Re: Kitty 6/14 pm curve

Yeah, I wish she would come down slowly and have a late nadir.

I would like for the numbers to get better--- but, I realize it will probably take awhile.

Re: Kitty 6/14 pm curve

She isn't vomiting, but she feels bad.

The vet said it would probably take 3 days for the abs to clear her system.

Have a glass of wine on me tonight Nancy!!!

Re: Kitty 6/14 pm curve

That's a nice beginning drop, not too steep. Glad to hear she's not vomiting but how's she eating?

Re: Kitty 6/14 pm curve

She is eating kind of like her drop tonight---slow and steady!

She isn't overly zealous for food-- but, she has eaten some.

I will have no idea what to shoot in the morning!

Re: Kitty 6/14 pm curve

You will have ideas! You will have some data a nd go from there. So far it looks like you made a very good call tonight.

Re: Kitty 6/14 pm curve

3 days!!! (And they didn't give you anti-nausea meds to cover 3 days?) Darn. I have never seen a/b nausea last that long - in my experience it's just for that dose, and if you can get something in their stomach and get it settled down a bit, then they are ok after that. Maybe still influencing things a little bit, like you don't feel great or anything, but not awful.

Well anyway, glad she is getting some drop tonight, hope it continues for a bit and is uneventful! I wouldn't be shy about raising the dose back up some, maybe 3.75 if you don't want to go with 4, in the morning if the PS is still up there.

Re: Kitty 6/14 pm curve

Everything okay Kim? It's late where you are, is Kitty having problems? I hope everything is fine .... tomorrow we will start again. Payne's ketones are back high, I'm staying up to monitor for awhile. Nancy

Re: Kitty 6/14 pm curve

Everything is okay Nancy. She is on the bed sleeping and I am making Sue proud by getting a mid cycle test in!

Sorry about the Ketones with Payne. I know you are on top of it.

Re: Kitty 6/14 pm curve

Glad to hear that she had a good night
I am sure that slowly she will start getting better
hope you got some rest last night

What would you shoot?....... Wake up!!!!!

Okay, so she is 396 this am --- what would you shoot?

I don't know why I am asking ---- you are all asleep?!

We are going to change our shot schedule forward 3 hours or move West!

Mornin' Kim and Ms. Kitty,
Great job getting up to test last night. Sue will be proud.
I would still go with the 3.25 or 3.5. I wouldn't go back to 4 units again. I think it's too much insulin for her.

That makes two of us Marcy!

I am glad you responded, because I was thinking of staying with the 3.25.

Okay, done deal-- going to shoot!

Looking good! You are going to get our middle of the night tester of the week award! so glad all is ok.

Nancy, that stinks about Payne's ketones. Hope things improve quickly.

+3 446 ugh

I find this test interesting.

This am I tested and fed and waited about 40 mins before shooting-- wanting to be sure there was no immediate vomiting. It appears she spiked some in those 40 mins.

She should even out today, be patient at least she's keeping food down ..... we are battling ketones big time, she likes to keep me on my toes! but she is eating and her #'s are decent (for her). Hope everyone has a great day! I'm going to do SQ fluids and call the vet. I'm glad you were testing late last night Kim, I was worried.
Nancy

Nancy-- I hope the ketones subside. My thoughts are with you and Payne.

Thanks for checking on us last night!

When Klinger was on ProZinc his nadir would move around...I think it was early when we started a new dose and then as he settled into it, it would move to a +8 nadir.
Hang in there. I can't remember, but I think it takes 2-3 days to clear a bounce. I'm not sure if that's for all insulin's or ProZinc or Lev.

How is Miss Kitty Fantastico feeling overall?

I am off today, so I will continue to test--but, what's your thoughts on the 3.25?

Yes, glad Marcy was here too. I told kitty we need to move west to a dirrerent time zone!

Well except for that wacky +3 it looks ok. A little flat but she's still recovering. I would give it some time to settle and let Ms. Kitty recoup. You too after all the excitement.

Ps: You did a great job deciding on a dose last night, you're reasoning was sound and it worked out great. :RAHCAT

Not a lot of movement today. It appears the nadir is still around +8.

So, do I hold the 3.25 or suck it up and move up? I know there are a lot of variables, and this is only 2 cycles at this reduction -- but, prior to the dental, UTI, bone infection, abs etc... The 3.25 was a little stagnant.

She is eating better and has showed no signs or nausea-- but, the nausea Meds have definitely worn off.

Fire away.......don't be shy....

Shy? I don't think anyone could be called shy  We knew today was going to be wonky (not a scientific term :) either ride it for another day and see if she settles ..... or go up some. I'm glad she's eating, it is so important. Payne is better. If we could just figure out what sets the very high ketones off, without putting her into DKA, close but not. This list has literally taught me how to keep her alive .... Nancy

Well, raise a glass, wait too early here (all the way west coast .... :) I'll catch up later, I've been keeping my fingers crossed that Kitty has a really good day. Miss Payne is remarkable, as is Miss Kitty .... we are lucky.

I shot 3.5. I feel like the 3.25 is probably a little short. I could have given it a few more days, but I am on vacation the rest of the week and can test-- so we will see what happens!

Keep your alarm clock set for 5:00 am!!!

Thanks for the help!

I think it is a good idea to get a little brave with your doses while you are home and can see what is happening. Love how you guys are figuring out the doses on your own!

3.5 u's sounds good. The alarm here goes off at 3:45 a.m. MT. @-) :-D I'll be up. I'm on vacation this week as well. Nothing like a staycation poking the kitty's ears.

SOunds like everyone is hanging in there!
Cant wait until this full moon goes bye-bye!!
and hopefully averyone will settle in again

Good luck on the doses tonight and I will be back later
