Last night I shot 3.85 (close to 4--U40s--eyeballing)-- no help in bringing down the preshot this morning. I didn't get any spot checks, so truly I have no idea what effect it had on the cycle.

I gave super sweet Kitty 4 units this morning. I also took her to the vet this morning. I know that is not the best place for a curve-but I am out of town today, and leaving Friday for Guatemala, so this is the best I can do.

I am also having a blood panel done to see if anything else is going on. I am a little nervous, but....

Hopefully today will be a good day. She did seem good this morning.

Wishing everyone a Good Day!

Re: Kitty 5/18

Hi Kim,

I think it was a good idea to have the blood work done to rule out any infections, etc. A curve at the vet isn't ideal but it is sure better than nothing, it will still give you an idea of how the insulin is working, just with higher numbers.

Glad she was feeling good this morning.

Just got back from the vet--

Today's numbers
Amps 455
+1. Hi(>500)
+4. 348
+8. 235
+10. 238

Received 150 mls fluids at +10 subq

Kidney values have improved---CRT 2.0 (2.2 last month) BUN 52 (67 last month)

Liver values good -- no damage from DKA

Will start dasoquin for arthritis -- they will order it for me

Vet said to use a sliding scale between 3.5 and 4.0

Weight stable at 8.9 lbs-- same as last check

Overall, I am pleased. It could have been a lot worse. Now if we (y'all and me!!!!) can just figure out the dose to keep her bg down.

Thanks for the concern and support!

Kim

So glad to hear that her blood levels show improvement and her weight is stable. So if we can help you find the right insulin dose--- life will be good!

What was her PMPS? Looks like her nadir was +8, even with vet stress it looks like a decent curve.

Glad her blood tests look good.
