Good Morning!

Kitty is still eating! That is the good news! The bad news is, she actually seems less active the last few days. Her legs are so weak and she is frail. I took her outside this morning and she did walk around some, but she is mainly laying around. It is my hopes that as she continues to eat that she will gain some weight and become stronger. For the first time, her eyes look weaker to me, but maybe I am just looking too closely at her. I am going to call the vet this morning and make an appointment to get her blood work repeated. Like I said yesterday, I am not optimistic, but I am hopeful that the eating is a good sign. I was really dejected a month ago, but as I have seen her decline, I have come to accept that I know she probably will not get a lot better. BUT, I am not giving up.....yet! If her main problem has been Ptitis, then maybe it is resolving and it just left her very weak. She is in no pain-- I will not let her suffer.

Does anyone know if there are any supplements-- high calorie that you can give cats? I have been giving her anything she will eat, trying to concentrate on low carb, but I wonder if there is anything like Ensure etc...that you can give cats. Anyone know?

Chewy is keeping a close eye on Kitty and cleaning her bowl of any food she leaves! He lays on the porch beside her most of the day, occasionally licking her head!

Please continue to send good vibes!

Wishing Everyone a Great Day from Diabetic Alley.....

Good boy Choo Choo!

Kim - I know I read something about some supplements about 2 weeks ago - probably on Health. Have you done a search there?

Kim,
What about one of the kitten milk replacements? I can't remember their names right now but most places that carry pet food also carry it. 'Catsip' or something like that maybe?

Just keep on lovin' her like you've always done - that's the best gift for both your hearts. Just look at how wonderful of a loved life she's had because of YOU. BIG huge hug, sounds like you need extras today.....and another one....and another....

Glad Kitty is eating; sorry she is seemingly weaker. GLAD she isn't in any pain! I do hope she will gain some weight and perk up.

I was thinking something like 'Catsip,' too, Lyresa, although after (just now) reading about it, not sure it has any supplemental value. hmmm - might be a good question to throw out in HEALTH.

I hope you are making time to take care of Kim, too (giving glaring 'mom look')

Hugs and Prayers -

Libby (and Hershey, too!)

I know there are supplement high cal type stuff in a tube - I gave it to my cat when she was small cause she'd eaten a large piece of plastic bag (amazing) and it was in her stomach and the vet felt it was going to pass fine but it made her feel full and she wasn't eating so she licked this stuff off my finger and it gave her protein and calories etc. - she did pass the large section of plastic bag a week later it had turned into PAPER like material - she'd been pooping the whole time just not much and not that big mass. Man it was a scary 10 days of x-rays etc. I was so glad we didn't need to cut her open she was so tiny at the time. I don't remember what it was called but I know I ordered it from Drs. Foster and Smith - it looked like a tube of petromalt or similar.

Much hugs to Kitty -and a big smooch for Chewy being such a good friend.
