Kitty pmps 385--wish it was lower, but glad it's not red!

Shot 3 units.
 
Red does seem like an alarming color. Pink is more soothing. :smile: So, are you set to do a curve tomorrow so we can see what is going on?
 
Curve Sunday. Kitty is going to have to board at the vet 4 days next week, so it isn't a great time for me to change her dose. I do think we need a change-- I just can't decide which way to go. The DKA still scares me, I am a little scared to drop the dose.
 
One thing at a time. After you get the curve, we may have a better idea of which way the dose should go. And it's your kitty and you hold the needle. You do what you are comfortable with. We can always start out with a small reduction down or a small step up.

As far as the vet, I think I would figure that he will have a dose while she is being boarded. Then you will bring her home, test and decide on a home dose. They will most likely be different.
 
I agree with you comments. I am going to get the curve, but I am expecting it to show we need a change. I am just not sure which way I think it will be -- I am a little scared of going down, but that might be the answer. We will see!
 
Even just a couple midcycle spot tests would be really useful. If you want to do a curve you can do a mini-one, just a test every 3 hours rather than every 2. Really hard to know what to do with the dose w/o something mid-cycle to go on. I'd guess you need more insulin, but it would be nice to see at least something in the +5 to +7 zone before saying for sure. Given that you shot 3.5 before though and it looked like too little insulin...
